Charter Arms® first got their start in 1964 when Douglas McClennahan began the firearm company with the goal of producing reliable, affordable and high-quality handguns. A former employee of Colt®, High Standard® and Sturm Ruger®, McClennahan’s first firearm to the Charter Arms® line was named the Undercover. What set the Undercover apart from other handguns of its time was that it weighed only 16 ounces, making it the lightest and smallest steel framed revolver on the market with the fewest moving parts. The Undercover also featured a unique hammer block system, which protected from unintentional discharge.
The Undercover quickly grew in popularity among law enforcement agencies and civilians alike and helped to launch the Charter Arms® name to the top of the list of quality and dependable firearms manufacturers. Since then, however, Charter Arms® has seen their share of ups and downs. In 1972, David Ecker, a lifelong friend of McClennahan, became the sole owner of Charter Arms® and his son, Nick, began to run the manufacturing and production aspect of the company. However, in 1996, Nick left the company, which ultimately led to Charter Arms® closing their doors for a short period in 1998. Charter Arms® was reopened in 2000 under new management and under the new name Charter 2000®. However, that same year, Nick Ecker gained back control of the company and once again changed the name back to the original Charter Arms®. Charter Arms® Firearms
Based on the same principles that first founded the company, Charter Arms® has continued to produce a long line of affordable and trusted firearms in spite of the various hardships they have encountered since first opening their doors. Over the years, Charter Arms® has gone on to manufacture the popular Bulldog revolver, Pathfinder, Dixie Derringer, Pink Lady, the Patriot and other trusted handguns.

Lightweight and compact, the Charter Arms® line of handguns is ideal for concealed carry, personal defense or as a backup weapon. Despite their small size, these handguns offer incredible stopping power and are built to last. Comfortable to hold and easy to transport, you can feel safe knowing that you have a trusted Charter Arms® revolver by your side.

From Charter Arms® handguns to the gear and accessories you need to maintain your firearm look no further. Whether you’re looking for Charter Arms® revolvers or magazines, cleaning kits, holster, ammunition, grips and more, CharterArms.TheGunSource has everything you need when it comes to keeping your firearm working properly.
